In July, 1999 the good ship CHRISTIANE sails from Rotterdam, Holland, bound for the USA.
On board this creaking cargo ship will be
Jose Oostveen, Rob Godfrey, and a Citroën 2CV.

This voyage is the first leg of a journey to Prudhoe Bay, Alaska, on the shores of the Arctic Ocean, a journey that will take them 5,000 road miles across Canada, up the Alaska Highway to Fairbanks and then north on the Dalton Highway to the lonely, desolate wastes of the Arctic.

This will be a first: no one has ever been mad enough to attempt
to drive a Citroën 2CV across Canada and up the Dalton Highway.

"Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans." - John Lennon
What dangers await Rob and Jose in Alaska?
What will happen on this perilous journey into the wilderness?
Will they ever return to Europe?

You can join in the rest of their great adventure here on...

The Concept

To drive a Citroën 2CV across Canada and then up to Fairbanks, Alaska, on the Alaska Highway, a distance of some 5000 road miles (8000 kilometres). The car will then be driven north from Fairbanks along the
Dalton Highway, 516 miles (830 kilometres)
to Prudhoe Bay, on the shores of the Arctic Ocean.

This will be a first: no one has ever taken
a 2CV up the Dalton Highway before.
